An Extended Database Cluster (EDBC) composed of two or more nodes, there will be one-and-only-one primary node, and one-or-more extended node(s). EDBC nodes are running active Oracle database instances and interconnected via secure TCP/IP, allowing optimized, compressed, real-time data streaming for high-performance cluster-wide synchronization for extreme-availability with uncompressed data integrity. When real-time data streaming is suspended, EDBC nodes continue to operate in non-clustered-mode, and automatically resumes clustered-mode, when networked.
